Boston Area Pilates Instructor Certification
Boston Body offers a complete program of Pilates instructor certification at our Newtonville location through Balanced Body University

Pilates Private Training
A one-on-one work out with one of  our certified trainers on the Reformer, Chair & Tower Units. Private training can help you better understand the fundamentals or intensify your current practice. We strongly recommend all students begin with at least one private session.
Yoga and Sculpting Private Training is also available.

Semi-Private Training (Newtonville Only)
 Seasonal Semi-Privates
A trainer leads a class of up to five  participants in Pilates exercises on the Reformer, Chair or Tower Units.  An excellent  method for sculpting and toning the entire body. In this small class format students enjoy both the personal attention of the trainer and the camaraderie of the other students.  More affordable than privates, these classes are very popular.

BRAND NEW BODY - Group Equipment Classes
In 30 Sessions you will achieve a BRAND NEW BODY! Our group equipment classes are designed to help you reach your Pilates Promise. If you take 30 of these classes within 12 weeks, you will truly feel and look
healthier and leaner. Both of our studios fully equipped with state of the art Pilates apparatus. Your instructor will format the class according to the level and preferences of the participants. Each class contains our special Mini-Mat-the 10 basic Classical Pilates Mat exercises that have made
the Method famous.

Group Pilates Classes (Back Bay Only)

Except where indicated, all Boston Body group classes at are taught multi-level.

Pilates Mat
Joseph Pilates referred to his Mat Workout as the "jewel" of his method. Mat
exercises are the foundation of the Pilates Method and will help you to
achieve your Pilates Promise. We teach a fusion of Classical and
Contemporary flow. Each exercises can be modified to fit your level. Not
recommended for severe joint or back issues without a doctor's clearance.

Pilates on the Ball
The Stability Ball is an excellent tool for developing a tight, strong abdomen and great glutes. It also makes exercise fun! We’ve developed a full body Pilates workout done on the Ball. People enjoy this class so much that they don’t even notice what an intense workout they’re getting.

Group Yoga Classes

Boston Body Yoga
This is appropriate for all levels, but beginners will find this especially satisfying. This class is a fusion of yoga styles. The class includes work on poses and deep stretching. Classes are mixed ability and students are encouraged to work at their own level.

Zen Stretch Fusion Yoga
This is appropriate for all levels. This class will increase your flexibility and can be modified for most needs. Classes are mixed ability and students are encouraged to work at their own level.

Healing Arts

Thai Massage
Our signature massage at Boston Body, it is frequently called "The Lazy Man's Yoga".  It is probably one of the most innovative forms of healing body work practiced in the country, yet it is one of the oldest forms of developed medicine.   Thai massage is performed on a floor mat, with the client dressed in comfortable, loose clothing.  Sessions run from 60 – 90 minutes. This type of massage is excellent for working on flexibility and deep pressure work.

Acupuncture
Our Healing Arts program also includes acupuncture which involves the insertion of hair-thin needles into specific points on the body. There are as many as 2,000 acupuncture points on the human body, which are connected by 20 meridians (channels and collaterals). Most people experience a deep sense of serenity after each treatment.  Our acupuncturist/herbalist, Vivian Ling, is a licensed practitioner from China. She apprenticed for many years with two of the top acupuncturist from China
